A poem a day

One public-domain poem each day, chosen for the season.

Today's poem

How the poems are chosen

Each day shows one poem, picked for the season: winter from December through March, spring and early summer from April through July, late summer and fall from August through November. On the first of each month, the poem is that month's poem from our 2027 calendar.

Every poem here was first published in the United States in 1930 or earlier, so it is in the public domain in the US. Each text follows an early printing, and each poem links to the scan or transcription we used. 122 poems are in the rotation.
